Any level customization of WordPress project requires access to the WordPress and Theme files. In this article i’ll explain how you can easily create FTP account and what are the most popular FTP apps for MAC OS and Windows.
#1.Creating FTP account
To create your site FTP account go to your hosting panel (you have to have credentials to the hosting account). Usually most of the hosting providers like Siteground use CPanel for managing your server (shared or another type).
So go to your hosting managing panel and find “FILES” section there:

You can see “FTP Accounts” icon. Click on it and you will be taken to the “Add FTP account” form:

LOGIN: add any name you want
PASSWORD: click “Password Generator” to generate strong secured password, copy it to your password keeper or into the private document.
DIRECTORY: !! make sure it’s /public_html/ or just /
QUOTA: unlimited
Click Create FTP Account and you will see your new account at the list under the form. Find it, click “Configure FTP client” and copy all info to the private document, we will need this info in second part of this article (when will set up FTP application):
